TODAY - The Twisting Studios are open 10-4 (Saturday 25th) for a Meet the Maker day! Come along and see some of the Mills’ resident artists and buy work direct from the source. We were joined by our pals from Assembly House this week for another crit swap ahead of Leeds Open Studios and our Heritage Festival! Here’s a glimpse into their evening. Open Studios & our annual Print Festival are two weeks tomorrow! If you’ve visited our Artists’ Studios before, you’ll notice some new faces and new spaces in this post. We’ve just welcomed 7 new creatives and opened a new textile studio up in Red Lane Mill. Our former Archive placement student David Fox has just finished his BA in Textile Design Leeds University! David joined us in the Weaving Shed yesterday for Tea and Textiles to talk about his final uni project, informed and inspired by research undertaken during his time with us at the Mills. We visited his degree show on its opening night and were so impressed by the quality of his work. Mark our words, this weaver is one to watch. A few highlights from an incredible weekend! We’re all exhausted but full up after Printed Bound, Open Studios and the launch of Ones to Watch 2024. Thanks to everyone who showed up to support all of the artists involved. This was our biggest and best Printed Bound yet, and it wouldn’t have happened without all the wonderful printmakers, bookmakers and workshop teachers that took part. Huge thanks to you all!
