Tia Mowry: My Next Act is now on @wetv
This is one of the most rewarding projects we have worked on. To film and edit the sizzle and to see it now being aired is just amazing.
Tahira you saw the potential. You believed in the project and you trusted us to execute. We can move mountains once we work as a team.
Tia is an amazing soul. On and off camera we had a blast. As she said “happiness is a choice”. Her joy covered the set and established the tone each day as we navigated the challenges and got through completing the set tisizzle.
Thanks to the amazing team that created the sizzle.
My general (DP) who I would never go to war without @the_truth876 . Thanks to Mitch, @daniellarochel and @charitycbowman .
I’ve known Chief Richard Currie long before he ever carried the title of Chief of the Accompong Maroons. We met through mutual friends years ago, and even back then, one thing was always clear to me, he was an exceptionally intelligent, driven and thoughtful individual. You could see the leadership quality long before the position ever found him.
As the years passed and we all grew into our respective paths, I would still cross paths with him from time to time. So when he was appointed Chief, something in me felt called to seek him out and see how I could support the mission. At the time, I watched him come under heavy criticism and pressure from the government but I was more interested in understanding the deeper vision the Chief had for his people.
When I went to Accompong, what I saw was not chaos or rebellion as some tried to portray. I saw a man fighting to restore a people to themselves. I saw a Chief working to reconnect a community to its roots after years of misguided leadership and cultural drift. I saw pride returning to the hills of Cockpit Country. I saw Maroons across the world begin standing taller again - remembering who we are, where we come from and the incredible victory our ancestors achieved against the mighty British Empire.
That responsibility is not light. Truthfully, it is a burden I personally do not think I could carry. To lead a people through adversity, criticism, politics and expectation requires extraordinary strength. But to lead them toward righteousness, cultural restoration and self-belief requires something even greater.
For that reason, I give Chief Richard Currie my deepest respect and admiration for the work he has done and continues to do in the face of immense adversity.
A people without memory are a people easily lost. Chief Currie has fought to restore that memory. #1Chief @chiefrichardcurrie
I came to Utica not knowing what to expect. What I found was a part of America that holds the spirit at its core. Hometown warmth, family and community, all welcoming with open arms. I never expected to find this warmth in New York, a place often known for its colder hustle but Utica, with its personality, showed me a warmer side. I’ve always been drawn to the sweetness of the Big Apple but Utica showed me the roots of the tree. #UticaCity #NYC #UticaStartsWithYou #WarmerSideOfNewYork
