Youth Theatre is all about improving essential skills for life.
We don’t care what job you want as an adult, we want to put you in the best position to be a fully rounded, confident, articulate human who will contribute positively to society and smash any university or job application and interview process. But also be able to think critically, deal with social situations, and have a greater understanding of the world. An arts education gives you this but school can’t do it all. Extra curricular is where you really set yourself apart.
Youth Theatre helps you in very practical terms to be the best person you can be, for your community, and for your career, and for yourself.
Of course if you want to be a professional performer, you’ve come to the right place… that goes without saying!
I’ve written this off the top of my head, sitting at my kitchen table after doing a load of bill paying and monthly accounts. It’s what’s on my mind the most - the power of Youth Theatre - I haven’t put it through an ai app, I don’t need to, I know what I mean after doing this job for 15 years, and having spent my life performing. And if I write it as honestly and clearly as I can hopefully I’ll reach more people and they too will benefit from Youth Theatre and a fulfilling arts education.

In November our Young Company, who meet on Mondays, will be staging Sondheim’s Into the Woods at The Talent Shack.
A big part of our rehearsal process is ‘world building’. Once we have the concept for our show and we’ve cast and started rehearsing we get the full company involved in creating the physical and imaginary world their characters live in.
Into the Woods needs a forest of course! A forest that’s ominous, and scary, that the characters are compelled to travel though - and may come out the other side! Having our own theatre means we have the luxury to easily create the physical space over the months as we rehearse and what the audience come and see is what has grown from everyone’s imagination as we’ve worked.
This is the first time we’ve staged a full musical outside of our summer season on shows. A special 10th anniversary moment for us.
Tickets will be on sale soon in the usual place - /tickets

What an incredible experience Youth Theatre 3’s Romeo and Juliet was!
The cast blew us away with their commitment and talent. The world they created was so fascinating and suited the story so well. A dystopian hellscape where warring families are torn apart and the young people are barely surviving. They brought the language to life fearlessly and we are so proud of each and everyone of the cast.
Big thanks to the creative team of Ash and David for leading the group through the rehearsal process and bringing such high production values.
Thanks to Aphra for her artistic skills with painting the set and customising and styling the costumes. It looked amazing.
Thanks to Mary @twocatsintheyardphotography for her photography and Nick @nicholaswmorrison for his videography skills
New members are welcome to join us from this Thursday, 6.30-8.30pm, we will be revealing the groups next production! Get in touch to register and enrol.
