The Monthly Muse | A Raja Ravi Verma Edition 🦢 The Monthly Muse is a monthly morning session in which they select one artist from art history, sit with their world, and create something inspired by that artist. One evening. One artist. One art style to steal. Event by: The Chaos Club @the_chaos.club @the_potato.eater.co This month, they will sit with Raja Ravi Varma. The man who gave Hindu mythology a face, Indian womanhood a canvas, and ordinary homes across the country their first piece of art. You will spend the morning in conversation with his world, his technique, his goddesses, his controversy. Did he revolutionise Indian art or surrender it to Western influence? Come with an opinion. Or come to find one. Then you create a mixed-media artwork on a cyanotype print. Reimagining “VannAuraPettai” through students eyes. Through portraits, details, abstracts, and landscapes, our young photographers from Chennai Higher Secondary School, TH Road, capture more than what is seen. They reveal the aura of everyday life, filled with people, memories, and meaningful moments. ‘Kangal Pesiya Kavidhai’, a photo exhibition that felt like a poem. Lanes, light, colours, and fleeting scenes, turned into something gentle and meaningful when seen through the eyes of children from Chennai Middle School, Maduma Nagar who spent months noticing their own world and capturing it. Our young photographers documented hidden treasures turning each photograph into a verse, captured through a camera and carried straight from their hearts to yours. This exhibition is an invitation to pause, look closely, and read the poetry our students have created through their eyes. We stole from Frida for this month's edition of The Monthly Muse 💖🤭 We discussed everything, from her unibrows to how she shook the capitalist world with her communist ideologies. And then we picked up a needle and thread. We stitched into our own portraits, with our own Frida twist. Because that's what Frida did her whole life. She looked at herself unflinchingly and made something out of it. We all went home owning ourselves, our pain, our quirks, and our beliefs. 💖✨ Guess who's the artist for next month? 😉
