The goal of this channel is pure educational, but with a few parameters:
-Exercises should be clear to understand at a distance
-We should be able to give these to an 8th grader, or College Student, and they both can get something valuable out of it
-No talking, this isn’t about self-promotion, it’s straight up about education, reinforcement, and reps
We’ll be starting with the Basics program, but then eventually diving into Intermediate and Advanced skill sets to use for more developed programs.

We all need creative ways to develop our younger students, even in “normal” times. Zoom sessions have been been great for giving information and focus, but there is a vacuum of valuable repetition/training that is tough to fill and reinforce.
Here is a Percussion Basics Program that covers a wide range of basic/intermediate skill sets in nearly the entirely usable tempo spectrum for a Beginning/Intermediate program. This covers a majority of the basics I use at any of my A, Open, & World class high school ensembles
Each exercise is:
* Straight-forward & Accessible: Simple Exercises with Efficient Variations
* Simultaneously Obtainable & Challenging: Covering nearly the full useable tempo spectrum so that Beginning through Advanced students can benefit
* Plug & Play: Included with tap-offs and metronome to make following along simple
* ”Zoom” friendly: All unison based, geared towards developing consistent habits that can easily translate to multiple instruments. In Zoom sessions: just enable “share sound” and have the entire class play along with the mp3s, start to finish
The “Percussion Basics Pack” includes:
* Sheet Music outlining each exercise (19 pages)
* High quality mp3s designed for easy play-along with VDL sound sets (102 individual tracks!)
* All mp3s have multiple reps and simple variations programmed into it, a tap-off, and developed for ease-of-use
We’ll be using The Build-Up Method YouTube Channel to cover each exercise. This will be accessible and free to anyone interested! More info posted following :)
