Yesterday we spent a sunny afternoon at @the_bluepool in Furzebrook, Nr Wareham.
Dating back to the 17th century, The Blue Pool was originally a clay pit used to extract blue ball clay for British pottery companies. After it was abandoned, rainwater filled the pit, creating a mesmerising colour phenomenon.
The light diffraction caused by minuscule clay particles suspended in the water gives The Blue Pool its distinctive and ever-changing hues.
Now a well known nature reserve and tourist attraction you can enjoy fairy and gnome trails, the uks longest rope bridge, an abundance of wildlife, 25 acres of woodland and heathland around the pool, a play area and beautiful art deco tearoom.
