This week in Preston Class, we’ve had a fantastic time! 🍽️ We’ve been loving our cooking sessions, exploring different sensory experiences, and learning how to use the scales. 🎶 Music continues to be a favourite, where we enjoy trying out a variety of instruments and having fun with the parachute. 📚 We’ve been working really hard on our individual learning through our learning boxes, with a focus on numeracy, handwriting and phonics. During child-initiated time, we’ve especially enjoyed building with blocks and playing with cars. 🏃‍♀️ To top it all off, we were thrilled to take part in the Race for Life – a brilliant experience for everyone!

Senegal class presented assembly to Zone 3 where they spoke about Mental Health awareness. Pupils spoke about 'Pay it Forward', by encouraging their peers to do a good deed or help someone without being asked. Senegal class handed out positive messages to pupils in assembly to encourage their peers to Pay it Forward, too. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

🌱 Science in River Class 🌱 This term, River class has been exploring plants and trees. In week one, we learnt about seed dispersal and started a simple plant growing investigation by planting broad beans and observing their growth. Week two focused on the function of roots and stems, including how water is transported through plants. We tested this by placing white carnations in coloured water and watching the changes as they bloomed. This week, we explored the role of leaves, examining a variety of different leaves and discussing their similarities and differences.

A huge thank you to @Folkestone Museum for welcoming one of our pupils for their work experience last week. This opportunity gave our pupil valuable hands-on experience, new skills, and insight into the world of work. Experiences like this help young people build their confidence, develop workplace-skills and explore future career possibilities. Thank you again for investing in our pupils and making their experience such a positive and memorable one. #nextsteps #Careers

Our pupils had a fantastic opportunity to explore the campus, learn more about the facilities available and gain a valuable insight into further education pathways. Visits like these help our pupils make informed decisions and feel excited about their next steps. #nextsteps

🌟This term in Humanities Ivory Coast will be looking at local history with a focus around Dover Castle. To start this topic, we looked at maps of the local area to identify where Dover Castle is and how it was built for purpose. 🗺📍
