A little noisy, a little out of focus - but everything here is 100% mine.
There’s always a first, and it’s never perfect.

@krrish_lalit and I worked on this interactive project over the Winter Semester for a course of ours, which was then to be exhibited at the @mediaartsfutures End of Year Showcase!!
Krrish designed our 3D Environment and assets in Unreal Engine we used while I built the logic in TouchDesigner, Python and Unreal Engine, using the Kinect Sensor as the interactive device.
Each picture is how the setup was left at the end of the day.
Day 1 - Started by wiping the computer clean to not have driver issues, found out I need more than one computer to run everything cause the project is heavy (so far everything was running on my laptop during development). Came in at 2pm and left by 8pm.
Day 2 - I come in after work at 5pm and stay till 9:30pm, we now had Computer 1 running the Kinect Sensor, TouchDesigner and the python program; while Computer 2 will run Unreal Engine and get an NDI Input from Computer 1.
I went home knowing the python program was able to send out OSC data over my intranet.
Day 3 - Last day before the showcase, I came in at 2pm and started adding final touches to the project and ready to add NDI out from Computer 1 to Computer 2.
Apparently the amount of NDI streams we needed (8), were too much for a 100mbps router, a friend came in clutch and I now had a 1gbps router and the data stream jumped to 600mbps immediately. Final details, clean up and testing everything took way too long, I left at 3:30am.
Day 4 - THE DAY OF THE SHOWCASE. We open at 2pm, I arrived at 1pm knowing everything was working less than 12hours ago but unfortunately Computer 2 running UE was throttling, and the Kinect Sensor was now stuck in a boot loop. We had to abandon half of our interactive portion and shift to using a webcam 😢.
Day 5 - The showcase was on a Friday, and it’s now Tuesday. The Opening Gala is done, we just have open hours for people to drop by now.
And something I realized while talking to a friend about the project made me realize we can use the Kinect Azure! A way more modern Kinect than what we were using earlier and IT WORKED.
The project was complete albeit in stages but it had reached its final stage.
P.S.-A lot went wrong than I can put here..
