Eight songs were recorded at ye old Red House/Black Lodge in Eudora back in the early 2000s with @instaedrose (who also plays drums on this one). The SMF boys reunite in like 24 hours for three hometown shows to celebrate our new record!!! SMF is a persevering beast. As many of you know (and as our name foreshadows), we formed in 2011 with solely the intention of covering old school punk tunes. But after solidifying a couple setlists worth of stuff like Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Dead Kennedys (not to mention an entire set of @descendents tunes), we realized we potentially had something a little cooler than a cover band going on. The coolest thing about this band tho is that it’s become kind of a foundation for this group of five buddayes. Hanging out can become a creative endeavor, sometimes without even planning it. Although, for a while there it got to the point where we were like, “Hey, we are getting together in a couple months - let’s write and record an EP!” It’s not a dynamic you can ever really expect and as someone who thrives on creativity and music, I can’t fully express how much I appreciate that. But hey, enough of my yakkin’ - LET’S BOOGIE!
