Where can a career in public health take you? Join us on May 03, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT for Public Health: The Pathways Panel, a dynamic virtual event designed for students and early career individuals exploring the many directions within public health. This event brings together panelists from across global health, health promotion, policy, and program planning and evaluation. Through their experiences, they will offer insight into how careers in public health take shape and how to navigate them with intention. The session will begin with panel reflections, followed by an interactive question and answer period. Attendees will then move into breakout rooms for smaller, more personal conversations with panelists and the opportunity to build meaningful connections. Just over one week to go until the Case Study Showdown on Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 PM EST. Join us to work through a real-world case study, develop an action plan for a case competition, and connect with fellow public and global health peers. We are excited to introduce our keynote speaker, Nadia Mithani, a PhD candidate at The University of British Columbia’s School of Population and Public Health. Her research focuses on the uptake and acceptability of HPV-based self-screening for cervical cancer among underserved populations in BC. Nadia brings over 13 years of experience developing and implementing public health research and programs related to nutrition, obesity, tobacco control, HIV/AIDS, menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer in Canada and globally. Introducing the panelists for our first event, Peer to Career: Public Health Careers and Conversations, which will be held on Sunday, November 2nd at 2 PM EST (11 AM PST) on Zoom! Anjini Sam Chee, MPH Anjini completed her Master of Public Health degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a concentration in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She currently works as a Technical Consultant at SAS Institute. Andrew Fullerton, MPH Andrew earned a Master of Public Health from UBC and is now pursuing a PhD in Clinical Science and Translational Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Audrey Warner, MPH Audrey is a recent Master of Public Health graduate from UBC. Her public health experiences include conducting qualitative research with the Faculty of Medicine’s Drone Transport Initiative. Negar Balouchestani-Asli, MPH Negar holds a Master of Public Health from UBC and has a background in Chemistry and Chemical Biology. She currently works as a Research Associate on the Strategy, Design, and Implementation team at Ontario Health. Rishika Selvakumar, MPH Rishika is a recent Master of Public Health graduate and current PhD student in mental health. She works as a Research Assistant and consultant, collaborating with non-profits, health authorities, and government on projects in policy, research, and community engagement. Sahar Allen, BSc. Sahar is a second-year MPH student at UBC. Currently, she works at UBC’s Office of Wellbeing Strategy as a Project Coordinator in the ‘Wellbeing In Learning Environments’ portfolio to promote wellbeing in classroom settings.
