This Koala bear has found a new home, in Hong Kong - more importantly this fur ball has found it's person, and hopefully together they will spread joy and colour around the world. It's not such such a hard task as you just thrown on this comfortable dress, made from colourful vintage linens and stroll about - It's also a great conversation starter. Honestly try one, you'll never be lonely again. Available to commission or from stock. (Check out my website for current off the rail options.) I also make tops, shirts and jackets. Well anything really, just make a request.
BE BRAVE - BE CURIOUS.
I create unique clothing blending nostalgia and style using up-cycled vintage tea towels and fabrics. One-off joyful clothes from forgotten treasures. Three cheers for Grandmaās bottom drawer.

Kirsty the mastermind behind The Creativity Clinic kindly asked me to make a podcast with her. I was a little doubtful to begin with, but when Kirsty said it was to discuss my creative journey over the last 40 years, I jumped at the chance. Itās not something that Iāve been thinking about much recently so to revisit the many choices and decisions Iāve made in my life was an excellent opportunity for me. Iāve had five different careers some of which have been better than others. Some have been well paid and some have not. Some rewarding some just draining. Itās good to do the life accounts every now and then and Iām truly grateful for this opportunity. It certainly caused me to make a few tweaks which I have been putting off. I urge you to check out the Creativity Clinic. Kirstyās idea for a creative community hub, are just outstanding and any town would be so lucky to have this unique venture brought to their populous. She aiming to offer creative experiences and opportunities to everyone. She brings her Brit School leadership and MBA overview to the table. We should really be interviewing her. !!
Women supporting Women lifting each other upwards together. Working together as a team of sellers during our Sustainable Fashion week pop-up market has been one of the most uplifting experiences Iāve had in the last few months. Everyone sold well at Haynes Lanes Free The Gallery and I have sent two of my Kaftans out into the world . One locally and one far away to Hong Kong to a woman who lives in Australia. It makes me laugh because the vintage tea towels in the dress have come from Australia to the UK and now from the UK to Hong Kong and will eventually probably go on holiday back to Australia again . It comes to something when a dress has more fun than you do. The carbon saved by using existing printed vintage linens , recycled packaging and providing a local job will offset any postage abroad. I think one of the reasons why tea towels were so preferred as gifts and tourist momentos is because these quality lightweight brightly coloured delights have a practical use, fit easily into a suitcase and cost little at the time . Iām all for capitalising on this joyous happenstance of these well travelled modest yet happy treasures. A big thank you to my buyers.
Drag and I are getting the last of our bits from @freethegallery after a brilliant sustainable Fashion Market over the weekend. I love this space which is for hire. Itās music festival time again. Shambala here we come. Iām landing with a mass of women over 55 and ready to cause havoc. So wonderful to spend time with all my arty friends who have supported me through all the ups and downs of life. Friends are my family, as my own is very small. Iāll send you some more posts over the next few days if the phone connects. Never stop having fun. My crowd of Guurlzz will be the first up and the last on the dance floors. Our jaws will ache from laughing and our hips will complain from all the dancing. Iām so lucky to live such a privileged life having been born in Britain and try to take advantage of all the freedoms Iām afforded. When I dance I always raise a toast the worlds hidden women, break some shapes for them and count all the lucky stars that shine on me. See you on the other side where Iāll be back to work. #shambalafestival #headresses #lifeover50 #haventstoppeddancingyet #drumandbase #UpcycledFashion #SustainableFashion #EcoFashion #SlowFashion #EthicalFashion #SecondHandFashion #VintageFashion #RepurposedFashion #ZeroWasteFashion
