📚Happy Indie Bookstore Day!📚
Huge thank you to all the indie bookshops that signed (and signed again for 2026!) their names to the indie tote today. Y’all made my bookstore dungeon crawl the best.
This bag has been going for two years strong and is full of authors, shops, and a single favorite artist. (bonus if you can find who it is.)There isn’t much room left! I think by next year both sides will be filled.
To all our indie authors, do you spot your signature? 👀
📚Favorite Covers: XXL Edition📚
At some point in time creative minds hit a hard out. Well I think I’ve hit mine. My largest book spread to date: 99 titles. I can’t go any larger unless I lay them out on the front lawn and stand on the roof on my house (not happening).
All the authors here rock. Cheers to everyone and the amazing stories you put out. 🤙🏼
Roomba, during my set up process: “I clean floor now and push books around??”
Also the last photo is blurry, but whatever. I did what I could being on my own with a kindle auto page turner and a IPhone photo timer. 🤷🏼
📚 Favorite Covers 📚
I always say I have my favorite covers, then I’ll receive some Broken Binding book mail, my favorites then change, I end up making a new flat lay.
Rise and repeat until I die.
Although there are a few OG’s in there that have been favs from the very beginning.
🗡️ The Shrike, The Lord of Pain 🗡️
“Shrike is the Lord of Pain and the Angel of Final Atonement, come from a place beyond time to announce the end of the human race”
-Dan Simmons, Hyperion
Still gushing over the @thebrokennbinding holo card I received for my remaining Hyperion Cantos set. The Lord of Pain has to be one of my favorite science fiction characters of all time.
Can’t wait to get a new TGC binder to start holding all my TBB cards.
🔥 When Blood Burns 🔥
Today I’m happy to help my author pal @astevenswrites reveal his new cover for When Blood Burns! I had a sneak peek of this book at Seattle WorldCon, and am super pumped to now have it on my shelf! Thank you to Andrew for the physical copy. 🤙🏼
Cover art done by the fantastic @sutthiwat_dechakamphu
🪐 The Hyperion Cantos ⛵️
My remaining Hyperion Cantos set arrived yesterday evening, and of course I’m blown away by the amazing cover and board art.
I read Hyperion last November and it truly changed the way I look at science fiction. If you haven’t yet given it a shot, I highly suggest you do so. Truly a tale for the ages.
“There is a fullness and calmness there which can come only from knowing pain.”
-Hyperion Cantos, no. 1
And here is my shameless #jeffbrowngiveaway entry.
Featuring many pieces but at front and center my most loved cover from his work, good ol’ Operation Bounce House.
I suppose this can be counted as category no. 3 in the entry specs? Flat lays are pretty, right? 🤷🏼
Also, Happy Free Comic Book Day y’all.
Hope everyone was able to grab their desired comics and enjoy feeling like a kid again. Here’s my snag from my brief time today at Seattle Crypticon. 🤙🏼
🏃🏻Dungeon Crawler Carl 🐈
Today might just be one of the best days of my life.
Scratch that, it definitely is.
Thank you, @mattdinniman . You have made this hermit’s dreams come true today. I know I was a bit lost for words, but I am eternally grateful. Your support in the community knows no bounds.
My original DCC set is now complete. 🤙🏼
My TCG cards from @ryancahillauthor The Bound and the Broken book series arrived today!
And then promptly went into penny sleeves and top loaders.
Pretty stoked about that holofoil. ✨👀
