Out today, @thctrio ’s debut self-titled album “THC Trio” on @pa_tapes label via tape, and digital format.
“THC Trio is an Austin, TX improv unit consisting of Joshua Thomson (alto sax), Jonathan Horne (guitar/bass VI), & Lisa Cameron (percussion/electronics). Rooted in free improvisation, they emphasize heavy rhythmic flow amidst droning feedback and inspired skronk, bringing a veneer of “rock” to the proceedings. While atmospheric in places, this is a largely pummeling affair, three established improvisers letting it all hang out.

I’m so lucky to get to share a few different bills with two of my bandmates from The Young Mothers this week. Last night I got to play in a brilliant trio with Jason Jackson and Angel Garcia in Houston. This Thursday we have T.H.C.
