Michael Abounabhan
@thatpainterdude
Early in his life, Michael would flip through pictures of memories that weren’t his own. There was not a single photograph he stared at twice without building an entirely different story.
For the past decade, he has been using photography as a means to archive feelings and experiences, reducing many words to a single frame. He grew up in Lebanon, where the diversity of landscapes and the gatherings between family, friends, and strangers offer a stream of memories worth capturing and retelling.
Today, he enjoys stepping out of the frame to capture the hustle of the world and the people living it, as well as stealing quiet moments from nature, listening to the breeze and the birds.
Michael’s work invites viewers to stretch the time between the blinks of a shutter, offering space to feel and form their own narrative from what they see.
You can find this work for sale at our Emerging Gallery in the HWH building. We’re accepting new artists for January — apply via bio

This is a panorama of 3 photos I took from Sara's balcony in Beirut (I already posted last week)... And a few more shots of the city from her balcony that don't align in the panorama...
3rd slide is a picture Sara took of a now abandoned hotel on the right and an apartment building on the left.. one was shielded by the building she's living in, and one had a direct view to the port
Taken with a Canon AE-1 using 35mm Cinestill 400d film
