A little tribute to the great Harrison Ford in honor of his Lifetime Achievement award.
His characters had a big impact on me. Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Rick Deckard. Jack Ryan.
The roles matured as I was maturing. I was just a child when Star Wars burst onto the scene. I was swept away by Raiders of the Lost Ark the summer before eighth grade. I didnāt quite understand Blade Runner the following year but just trying to made me feel like I was ready for high school. Post Marine Corps, I was ready for Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.
From space cowboy to tomb raider to CIA operative, these were all men with a conscience. Men of honor. Men I wanted to be like.
We need more examples of men like these. Men that young boys can look up to, aspire to be.

Over the Edge is on @YouTube ! Man, this movie had a big impact on me when I was a kid. Probably not a good influence. Heh. Still one of the best soundtracks out thereā¦ Cheap Trick, The Cars, The Ramonesā¦ and not as some nostalgia trip. These songs were new and vital at the time.
Man, what a time to be young and crazy.
