I launched a website! I know I’ve had quite a hiatus since my last post, but between new gear acquisition, testing, cloudy nights and most importantly, creating a website, it’s been tough to image and process. With that being said, the hardest part is behind me and now it’s just a matter of the weather cooperating (4 back to back clear nights ahead of us!). Look forward to new images and more frequent updates! Go check out my website, which is linked in my bio! #astrophotography #space #astrophoto #astronomy #photography #telescope #svbony #ZWO #ogma #antlia #askar #stars

Beyond grateful that I could get the day off of work to visit my Alma mater AND listen to Nigel Henbest deliver a wonderful presentation on the history of astronomy. Was stoked when we ran into each other the other day when I was selling my prints at a show

Historic moments like this remind me why I point my telescope at the sky. Exploration begins with curiosity, and sometimes all it takes is looking up. 📸 Photo credit: NASA

Been all too long since I posted, but here’s something I worked on this past weekend. Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) shot across two different nights. One has a little more data than the other, but I thought they were both pretty cool in their own right with the different tails. Regular posting is not my forte but eventually I’ll change that! While it’s been quiet on the social media side, it’s been anything but that over the past couple months in terms of work, research and gear acquisition! The biggest thing that has happened since my post is the purchase of my new (new) telescope, which happens to be my dream scope, the Celestron Edge 11 HD. While I love any astrophotography target, galaxies, smaller planetary nebulae, and obscure objects, like gravitational lenses, are my passion and this will help achieve my goal of doing those tiny deep space objectives justice. It’ll also be outstanding for planetary and lunar images as well, so stay tuned for that. Now that I have the scope, I’ve began my search for an amazing mount. A rock steady research/observatory grade mount like a jtw GTR or astrophysics mach 1 are top contenders. While I continue my search, the scope will stay safe inside in its manufacturing box. I don’t think I can emphasize how excited I am to eventually use it I’ll post about the other cool new things that’s developed/I’ve acquired over the past few months in another post including a new image I’ve never done before (finally 🙌) #astrophotography #space #astrophoto #astronomy #photography #telescope #svbony #ZWO #ogma #antlia #askar #stars #ogma #ogmavision #jtwastronomy #celestron #astrophysics

Obligatory lunar eclipse photo This was a composite of 10 stacked frames from both the moon and stars perspective. It’s my favorite since it looks similar to how it was through the naked eye in my dobsonian telescope’s eyepiece minus the exposure and saturation. More to come since I took over 1000 photos last night and this is only 10. Hoping for the phases next once I get a chance to sort through it all!

Anyone who has followed me from a year or so ago might immediately recognize this target since this isn’t my first time shooting it. You can even see a post I made way down in my profile showing it off with my then svbony scope. I wanted to shoot Andromeda again, but do it slightly different and with a more wide view. To achieve that, I switched to my smaller telescope, the space cat 51, which is 250 mm. I also shot it with a OSC instead of my mono camera. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this image! I do hope to one day revisit this target again and add even more detail and possibly Ha like I did in my Triangulum Galaxy post. First post of 2025! Check out this target that I’ve shot before - M33, the Triangulum Galaxy. The first time I shot this was with a stock canon DSLR and honestly, the outcome was one that I am still proud of and a testament that you can get started in this hobby with just basic gear. Fast forward to now, with dedicated gear, I wanted to go further and highlight the nebulae in the Galaxy itself (Astrobackyard did a video of this same target that inspired me to do this). Really happy with the turnout and I’m sure I’ll revisit again in the future to capture more hydrogen alpha data. Until then, enjoy! The red parts in the galaxy are the nebulae. Oh, and the first image is an annotated version which highlights all the other objects in that fov along with the Triangulum Galaxy itself. A lot of the little teal annotations are other galaxies far away. I counted at last 20 myself. Really puts our place in the universe in perspective. Last post of 2024! It’s been an amazing year of watching the night sky and I’ve learned so much and grown a lot in a year with my processing and acquisition of deep sky objects. But having said that, there is plenty to still learn and improve on. This hobby is extremely humbling and it will test your patience and at times, make you feel crazy. Thankfully, it’s also extremely rewarding. As a farewell to 2024, enjoy this picture of the iris and ghost nebula which is around 30 hours of integration. The ghost nebula is simply a crop of the wide field iris. See you in 2025 👋🏼🔭🌌 #astrophotography #space #astrophoto #astronomy #photography #telescope #svbony #ZWO #ogma #antlia #askar #stars #ogma #ogmavision
