I leaned forward a bit much but you can still see my green paperclip (with 2 hanging from it) attached to my shirt under my hair a bit. Switching gears to something a bit more gritty. I am working on mastering the grit. HAHA. SO MUCH FUN. Leaning into imperfection and deeply flawed characters.. And no, no real cigarettes were smoked in the making of this video. #selftapemay #selftapemay2024 Number 11!!! Playing is so much fun! You may never guess but fiction fantasy and dystopian are my favorite genres of EVERYTHING.... Tolkien is not on the absolute top of my list and I may haver pronounced some things wrong, but I did greatly enjoy reading The Hobbit. This is my take on Tauriel. I LOVE that during self tape may I can break rules and play parts I may never get a chance to do. Have fun! My blending isn't as good in this one (darn flyaways) but I wanted to get it out. Again.. this is the same monologue I used for the last 3 tapes and it is this: "You’re all waiting. I can feel it. Like I’ve already said something I haven’t. I know what it looks like—I do. And I know what you’re expecting me to say next. But if I just say it like that, it won’t be right. Not with everything still… happening around us. So just hold on. Let me get there." Thanks unbound actor for the lessons, if you have suggestions to help with masking in Premiere I would be grateful!

Ok I know I'm throwing these all up in one day, but it feels like it is appropriate to show the different ways this monologue can present :) Character changes and all. :) Again.. My first four self tapes are all the same monologue .. no changes (I think unless an accident) to the words. Here is the monologue: "You’re all waiting. I can feel it. Like I’ve already said something I haven’t. I know what it looks like—I do. And I know what you’re expecting me to say next. But if I just say it like that, it won’t be right. This year I wanted to try some new things! I posted 4 generic/nonspecific monologues in my little acting group, with the goal of encouraging my actors to make choices, be specific and create Character and a world out of the monologues. I took it a step further and used what I learned from @unboundactor and spin them into reels. I've followed each with the original. Be gentle.. this is my first time doing this! Here is my #1 of monologue #1. This is the monologue, making every attempt in every tape to not change the words, only the intention. "You’re all waiting. I can feel it. Like I’ve already said something I haven’t. I know what it looks like—I do. And I know what you’re expecting me to say next. But if I just say it like that, it won’t be right. Not with everything still… happening around us. So just hold on. Let me get there." I have 3 more versions of this coming :)
