I participated in the recently concluded African Union Heads of State and Government Summit held in Addis Ababa, where I had the privilege of engaging in a series of strategic dialogues and high-level events alongside distinguished African leaders, institutional partners, and development stakeholders committed to advancing the continent’s collective progress.
On the margins of the Summit, I participated in the launch of the Gender and Youth Mainstreaming Framework, an important milestone in strengthening inclusive governance and sustainable development across Africa. The event was enriched by the insightful contributions of Dr. Asha Mohammed , whose perspectives during the panel discussion underscored the critical intersection of humanitarian leadership, gender equity, and youth empowerment.
I also had the distinct honour of engaging with former Secretary General of the
@ifrc , Elhadj As Sy, who delivered compelling reflections at the Accra Reset initiative convened by the President of Ghana, HE John Mahama. The initiative represents a timely call for renewed continental solidarity, institutional renewal, and transformative leadership responsive to Africa’s evolving realities.
It was also a great opportunity where I engaged with Eivind Fjeldstad on potential partnership possibilities.
Throughout the Summit, my engagements with fellow African leaders and heads of regional and global institutions reaffirmed the urgent need for strengthened partnerships, intergenerational collaboration, and sustained investment in localized solutions as central pillars for Africa’s prosperity, resilience, and global influence.
I remain encouraged by the shared vision and collective resolve demonstrated during these engagements and look forward to translating these commitments into tangible outcomes that advance the aspirations of our continent and its people.
