This is a special story for me. I was in Morocco in December, walking through Marrakech when I saw the ruins, the broken house, and this little boy. I watched him for about 5–10 minutes. Then I walked on, not even three meters, I turned around. I just had to capture this moment.
I asked him in English if I could take a photo of him, but he didn’t understand me. So, I tried to explain it with hand gestures. He simply nodded. I took exactly two photos of him—you can see them in the slide above. It was one of the most beautiful and interesting moments of the past year.
After that, I gave the little boy 20 dirhams, which is roughly 2 euros. He was so incredibly happy. It was such a touching moment.
My message is simple: sometimes, take a moment to observe and interact with the people around you. Nothing in life should be taken for granted.
