I was thinking how I'd like to celebrate 20 years of the civil union act, 20 years of Love & Equality as part of celebrating 30years of our constitution βπΎ #SONA2026 became an opportunity to fuse a lot of themes in one π firstly I hardly ever wear white anything but this I was brave. White bridal suit was designed with a 5m trail that worked beautifully as a canvas for many who pledged to support local designers and the entire CTLF industry of SA. Thank you to everyone who supported the initiative and for showing up Proudly South African #SONA2026 THIS WAS OUR PERFECT PERFECT WEDDING π€πΎ I Love You much ππ€β£οΈπ³οΈββ§οΈπ³οΈβπ

Yesterday, the Thami Dish Foundation and the Agency convened a sectoral engagement with leaders, activists, and young people of the LGBTQIA+ community and persons with disabilities for a reflective dialogue on what real inclusion, representation, and economic participation should ideally look like, and what it should feel like.
Deputy Minister Steve Letsike, Member of Parliament Palomino Jama, Board Member Sibusiso Makhathini, Gina November from Gender Dynamix and Luxolo Ndlovu from Kasi Pride shared interesting insights in their reflections on the everyday lives of queer bodies and persons with disabilities. An important reflection was how intergovernmental coordination is of priority, and would propel the inclusion agenda with purpose.
This engagement challenged us to move beyond tokenism and toward meaningful participation - ensuring that no young person feels unseen, unheard, or left behind. Inclusion must be lived, protected, and institutionalised.
