This is the first official HERO video I’m dropping.
What makes this one special to me is that this was actually the very first haircut film we shot a few months ago. The model is Nick — an amazing barber from Tacoma who came out to Montreal to take our 8-Day Program at Gradient Academy.
During the program, we decided to cut and film his hair, and that moment ended up becoming the start of a whole new creative direction for us.
ASMR: Finally releasing my first ASMR haircut film.
I really wanted to focus on the details you don’t always pay attention to the sound of the scissors, the clippers, the spray bottle, the texture of the hair, the rhythm of the entire process. There’s something incredibly mesmerizing about it when you slow everything down and truly listen.
For this video, we worked with our model Kota and focused on creating a creative haircut designed specifically around Japanese hair texture. From the shape of the haircut to the cinematics, the camera angles, the lighting, and every sound captured, everything was curated to make you feel something.
I love this haircut.
I love the process behind it.
More ASMR haircut films are coming soon.
Episode 1 of many.
The last 6 months have been intense.
Building the brand. Hiring the team. Creating the vision. Dealing with the pressure, the growth, the challenges, and everything that comes with trying to build something bigger than yourself.
A lot has been happening behind the scenes and now it’s finally time to bring you into the process.
We’ve been filming new content, documenting the journey, and creating some of the hardest content we’ve ever put together.
This is only the beginning.
More episodes. More behind the scenes. More real conversations. More growth.
Stay tuned. What’s coming next is going to be fire. 🔥
Another full year of education is coming your way.
And if I’m being real… this one means a lot to me.
Because this has never just been about teaching haircuts for us.
It’s about the barbers who know they’re capable of more—but feel stuck trying to figure it out on their own.
I’ve been there.
Putting in the hours, working hard, but still feeling like something’s missing.
Knowing your work is good… but not getting paid like it is.
Watching other people move forward and thinking—you could do the same, if you just had the right direction.
That’s really why Gradient Academy exists.
To give you structure and clarity
Because this goes way beyond cutting hair.
It’s about building real confidence.
It’s about charging what you’re worth without second guessing it.
It’s about creating a brand that people respect and recognize.
It’s about attracting a different type of clientele
We put everything into this.
Every class, every student, every detail.
And the fact that people fly in from all over the world to be here…
that’s something we don’t take lightly.
It just shows what happens when you finally decide to invest in yourself for real.
Drop a 🔥 if you have taken one of courses before
Day 4/8 at @Gradient____ Academy.
This program is built for one reason: results.
You leave with:
8 structured haircuts you can execute with confidence
A clear system behind every cut (no more guessing). A content strategy that actually brings in clients
A personal brand that separates you from everyone else
This isn’t education for inspiration.
It’s education for transformation.

What makes these images special isn’t just what you see.
It’s everything you don’t.
The countless hours.
The planning.
The vision before it ever became real.
It starts with a vision board—
a direction that has to be felt before it’s seen.
The conversations to align that vision.
Working with model agencies to find faces that truly represent the brand.
Collaborating with stylists so every color, every texture stands out with intention.
It’s the rehearsals.
The obsession over every detail.
The preparation with the team to make sure every haircut is executed exactly as imagined.
It’s the intro video—
to make you feel what I felt.
The music—
to take you through the highs and the lows I lived through.
Because at the end of the day…
it all falls on you.
The sleepless nights.
The constant problem-solving.
The pressure to show up with confidence and represent something bigger than yourself.
And beyond the work—it’s the people.
Making sure everyone is taken care of.
Making sure they feel valued.
Making sure the environment reflects appreciation—not just expectation.
That’s what I see in these images.
Not just a final result—
but a process, a standard, and a level of dedication most people will never fully understand.
Thank you CALGARY and @empirebarberexpo for having us.

Growing up, I was drawn to western films—the mood, the storytelling, the culture.
This collection is a tribute to the western culture and to the year of the Horse
