Welcome to @thabamati : an ~unforgettable~ luxury tented camp in South Africa’s Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Thabamati, meaning “mountain and water” feels like an oasis of calm in the middle of the bush. Honestly, I haven’t visited a safari lodge quite so peaceful!! Big 5 game drives, stunning South African food, waterfront views from bed, and a hosting team that make you feel part of the family ❤️ What feels different about Thabamati? My POV: ✨ The camp is intimate, accommodating only 8 guests across 4 tents. As a result, the individual experience is bespoke and serene. I travelled solo, but Thabamati would be the ideal option for a large family or friends group… turning the camp into your own fully-staffed safari villa (the dream?) ✨ The Timbavati Nature Reserve offers quite a different safari experience to other reserves I’ve been to in the Greater Kruger. There’s *much* less vehicle traffic. Once you find wildlife, you can sit with it for hours… or until you want to head back to the pool ;) ✨ It’s eco-friendly! The whole lodge uses only solar power and gas. Great to see. ​ In short: a bit of a stunner, if you like your safaris with a touch of stillness and a lot of luxury.
