First, They Burned the Books is a documentary short film about the rise of systemic discrimination against queer people in the United States. Through the stories of those who, fearing for their safety, consider fleeing abroad, this near-experimental essay exposes the surge of 2SLGBTQIA+phobic laws since the new presidential term. Amid this wave of injustice, it draws a parallel with History, revealing the universal mechanisms of oppression and intolerance.

This is your last chance to get in on the spring class: QUEERLY DEPARTING: PLANNING WITH PRIDE
Two Parts: Sat May 16 + Sat May 30
> 10a - Noon
> For all people over age 18
> Registration is $35 (ORCA Members - $10)
You'll finish this class with notarized paperwork, and a plan for how you will be cared for in an emergency and at the end of your life.
This class is lead by a lawyer (@legal.legacynm ) and an end-of-life navigator (@bonnemori ) who are experienced and passionate about helping people maintain their identity and autonomy every freaking second of their life - even when they can't speak for themselves.
