Stepping into the abyss- coming down off Mt Shirouma. Grateful to have a kind young man,T. Shiga, to help guide us down safely across the crevasses on the glacier- in Running shoes and rain nonetheless 😳. Happy to be back at the hotel after quite the adventure in the Northern Japanese Alps
Hiked in the Japanese Alps up Mt. Shirouma. 6 miles and 4,000ft of hiking to 10,000ft overnight stay. Absolutely challenging but just spectacular! Beauty out does other climbs I’ve done: Mt Whitney, Mt Adams, Mt Shasta, Mt Lassen, IMHO. Thanks Hans, for always challenging me. Now we just have to make it back down tomorrow 😮
