Itโ€™s been a lot of hard work, and today we are excited to share a new ๐—ฆ๐—ž๐—”๐—ฃ tech update! ๐Ÿ’ฅ SKAP can now handle an arbitrary number of FACS. For every expression, it generates automatically a dedicated high-quality displacement set in 16k โ€” Grayscale Displacement, Multi-channel Displacement, and Cavity โ€” all perfectly aligned and fully consistent across the entire dataset. This level of stability across large FACS libraries can be a real game changer for studios working with scan data. It provides reliable detail extraction per input FACS map/geo, predictable results, and a much cleaner pipeline when managing extensive expression sets. In this demo, youโ€™ll see three static FACS in action โ€” no 4D, no image sequence, no OBJ sequence. Just three blendshapes with their corresponding displacement maps driving the animation. The scans are provided by the fantastic team at @clearanglestudios , courtesy of them. ๐Ÿ–ค Weโ€™re also getting close to Phase 2, where weโ€™ll start gradually onboarding everyone on the waitlist who completed the beta form, giving them access to the platform and the ability to process their assets online. ๐Ÿš€

Silver. "Hello, anyone there? Iโ€™ve been away for a while, so this is my first piece after a long break. To be honest, it didnโ€™t start out well, and for a while I didnโ€™t think I would finish it. I went in circles with my concept and almost gave up, but Miguel kept encouraging me to keep going. There are still plenty of flaws, and I wish it was better, but Iโ€™m glad I finished something. Scarlett Johansson. "This piece is a revisit of the first likeness I ever attempted back in 2017, when I was just starting out in 3D. Coming back to it now felt like a nice way to reflect on how much has changed over the years and how much Iโ€™ve learned along the way. Iโ€™ve been really lucky with the career Iโ€™ve had so far and the projects Iโ€™ve been able to work on. It was also my first proper attempt at a hair groom in Houdini. Thereโ€™s definitely a lot more to learn and improve, but Iโ€™m relatively happy with the result and itโ€™s been a good learning experience overall. Colin Farrell (UE5, real-time). "Hi everyone, this is my take on Colin Farrell likeness (2000s) and the result of a real-time study. My goal was to achieve a quality level similar to offline renders within a real-time environment, while focusing on optimization. I followed Sefki Ibrahim's course, which helped me immensely in gaining confidence with UE5. This was also my first project where I created base textures using photogrammetry photoshoot kindly provided by the Triplegangers team. Starting with only the albedo information, I processed it to generate displacement and normal maps. After establishing this texture base, I've filled the gaps with texturingxyz data and I added a manual painting pass to better capture the specific facial features of the likeness. The character is fully rendered in UE5. I used ZBrush for sculpting, Houdini and GroomBear for the grooming, and ZWrap for the detail transfer and topology wrapping. The clothing was created in Marvelous Designer and textured in Substance Painter."
