Vedere la collezione Handle With Care prendere vita attraverso la performance artistica del @teatroduemondi ha significato raccontare il progetto con la cura di chi conosce la migrazione, le sue difficoltà ma anche la sua bellezza. Tanta partecipazione, partner arrivati da Grecia @ankaaproject , Francia @esperoatelier e Bosnia @warchildhood insieme alla comunità locale, riuniti nel cuore di Faenza per l’apertura dello spazio espositivo. Ringraziamo il @municipiofaenza per l’accoglienza e gli spazi pubblici, tutti i volontari, i partner europei presenti e chi ha saputo cogliere l’anima di Handle With Care: storie di migrazioni da cui imparare, lasciarsi ispirare e costruire nuovi immaginari comuni. ________ Final stop of the journey: Faenza, with @dressagainfaenza ✨ The closing event of TexTALES was a whirlwind of emotions. Seeing the Handle With Care collection come to life through the artistic performance of @teatroduemondi meant witnessing the project told with the sensitivity of those who truly know migration — its struggles, but also its beauty. So many people joined us: partners from Greece, France, and Bosnia, alongside the local community, gathering in the heart of Faenza for the opening of the exhibition space. The journey continued with @ankaaproject in Athens! At the beginning of April, in the heart of Athens, the 30 garments of the travelling TexTALES collection became voices, sounds, and stories. Through the collaboration with a social choir, the exhibition "Handle With Care" transformed the collection into a living performance where fashion and music met to tell journeys of migration, resilience, and encounter. These garments carry stories across borders — overcoming stereotypes and divisions, revealing the richness that emerges when cultures meet. A travelling collection, a shared voice, a Europe connected through hands, memories, and social fashion. _________ Το ταξίδι συνεχίστηκε με το @ankaaproject στην Αθήνα! Στις αρχές Απριλίου, στην καρδιά της Αθήνας, τα 30 ενδύματα της περιπλανώμενης συλλογής TexTALES μετατράπηκαν σε φωνές, ήχους και ιστορίες. Μέσα από τη συνεργασία με μια κοινωνική χορωδία, η έκθεση «Handle With Care» μεταμόρφωσε τη συλλογή σε μια ζωντανή performance, όπου η μόδα και η μουσική συναντήθηκαν για να αφηγηθούν διαδρομές μετανάστευσης, ανθεκτικότητας και συνάντησης. Αυτά τα ενδύματα μεταφέρουν ιστορίες πέρα από σύνορα — ξεπερνώντας στερεότυπα και διαχωρισμούς, αποκαλύπτοντας τον πλούτο που γεννιέται όταν οι πολιτισμοί συναντιούνται. Un momento condiviso, che ha l’obiettivo di raccontare storie e percorsi attraverso gli abiti. The journey began in Paris with @esperoatelier ! At the @la.maison.des.refugies , TexTALES came to life with a powerful first exhibition and fashion show, marking the beginning of the collection’s journey across Europe. A collective effort made possible through many collaborations and volunteers, including the essential contribution of @catherinebrickhill , who curated the runway show. A new narrative on migration begins: not as an emergency, but as a source of richness and opportunity — told through hands, stories, and social fashion. What a night! Truly inspiring and thought-provoking show @la.maison.des.refugies in Paris. Handle with Care is part of the @textales_eu project, exploring migration, resilience, and identity through fashion, craft, and storytelling. Each look in the collection reflects personal journeys and the search for home. In this Knowledge Exchange project, ateliers working with refugees across Europe have been inspired by drawings, silhouettes, textile samples, and ideas shared by our @fashion_textiles_ual_fad students. texTALES / The texTALES Collection has been created in three social tailoring ateliers across Europe - Paris, Athens & Florence, where migrants, refugees, and local artisans collaborate — transforming personal stories into collective garments through fashion. ✨ The beneficiaries [refugees] bring their cultural skills and traditions into shared workshops that foster learning, inclusion, and empowerment — building community through making. We’re proud that selected students from @ualfoundation in the Fashion & Textiles Curriculum Area @fashion_textiles_ual_fad collaborated with the texTALES teams last academic year. Their textile pieces, silhouettes, and research were selected by Espero Atelier’s Maya Persaud and @catherinebrickhill (creative director of the project) and will be presented in Paris today!
