2025 was a monumental year for TEXSAR.
We answered more calls than ever before, through severe weather and moments of crisis.
It required more training, deeper resilience, and an unwavering commitment from our volunteers, partners, and supporters. Because of that dedication, TEXSAR stands stronger, more capable, and more prepared than ever.
As we move into 2026, one thing is clear: we are ready for the call. Wherever and whenever it comes.

Thank you to the incredible mothers who serve their communities and our state as members of TEXSAR. Thank you for every bedtime story missed, every family dinner delayed, and every sacrifice made to answer the call.
And to the mothers who raised our TEXSAR volunteers, thank you. Thank you for raising compassionate, selfless humans who step forward to serve others in their hardest moments. Your impact reaches far beyond your own families.
Today, we celebrate all of the strong, caring, and selfless moms who make this mission possible.
Happy Mother’s Day!

22 years of showing up when it matters most.
Over the last 22 years, TEXSAR has grown into one of the largest volunteer search and rescue teams, responding to more than 1,000 missions and standing ready every time the call comes in.
From the Gulf Coast to North Texas, Central Texas to South Central Texas, our teams span the state, but what connects us is simple: people willing to give their time, their energy, and their hearts to help others.
Hundreds of volunteers have worn the orange uniform over the years. Every one of them has helped shape who we are today, thank you.
We’re proud of our history. Grateful for those who started it all. And ready for whatever comes next.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, TEXSAR is made possible by supporters like you, thank you.
Here’s to 22 years, and the missions still ahead.
What an amazing day observing Texas Search and Rescue volunteers and their dogs!
Dogs ranged in training from just a couple months to 6+ years of experience. We started with the dogs trained in recovery of (human) remains. They had 3 problems for them to work: one hanging, one buried, and one jarred at surface - with distractions around. Then we moved to the dogs working in live find rescue - even getting to hide 200+ yards away for one dog to find. Every dog trains a bit differently but they all have some show or signal when they make a find and love their reward - usually a good game of tug or toy play.
Thank you:
• Paul and Kon (not pictured)
• Stephanie and Eddie (red heeler mix?)
• Kevin and Diesel (long haired German shepherd)
• Teri and Hootie (brown border collie)
• Teri and Fin (black border collie)
• Laura and Malan (yellow lab)
• Ginger (human flanker who plays an equally vital role of safety patrol, communications, scribe, and more)
Awe-inspiring. Both the skills and drive of the animals, as well as the commitment, love, and passion of their humans.
Grateful and thankful all these creatures walk among us.
@texsar is a 99% volunteer organization. I found out about their work during the July 2025 floods and later attended their fundraiser where I won this experience. Check them out to find out how you can support them - through their official volunteer and trading programs or monetary donations.

Every mission, every search, every life impacted, none of it happens without our volunteers.
This year alone, TEXSAR volunteers have contributed over 29,000 volunteer hours deploying to over 90 missions, and it's only APRIL!
That’s not just time, that’s commitment, sacrifice, and heart.
