Last week, we had the honor of catering the grand opening of the Carmen Lomas Garza: Picturing the Familiar exhibit at the ASU Art Museum. The goal was to create a recipe inspired by the vibrant artwork.I asked my mom (and our chef!) to help me bring this vision to life. As always, she jumped in to support me, and the dish was an absolute hit!
Mom, seeing everyone enjoy your food reminded me of the beginnings of Testal. What was just an idea became a restaurant when I asked if you would help me share the flavors I grew up with. The food that’s home. The warm comfort wrapped in a tortilla that you’d hand me as I headed off to school or to my baseball games. Thank you for supporting this dream from a tiny idea to the restaurant it is today. Thank you for always being there for me.
