This theme highlights girls' resilience, leadership, and their role in driving change.
I had a great time with young girls at Dukpe Community, Gwagwalada Abuja.
Nigerian Cancer Society in collaboration with 'The Girl Effect' vaccinated young girls over 9 years of age after educating the community about the benefit of HPV Vaccination.
I used the opportunity to teach them more about Cervical Cancer and the HPV Vaccine, hand hygiene, menstrual hygiene, Self love/Confidence and the importance of the education of the Girl child.

In commemoration of this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, FMC Abuja Hosts Free Cancer Screening. This is in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (National Cancer Control Plan and Nuclear Medicine).
A sports fiesta and public awareness campaign held on 4th October 2025 to flag off a month long free cancer screening exercise for breast, cervical, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
The initiative aims to screen 1000 public servants, as part of the National Sports Fiesta against Cancer, organized by the National Cancer Control Programme of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. "Early detection is key to cancer treatment and management and FMC Abuja is always committed to providing quality healthcare services to the public, and this exercise is a significant step in that direction."
Says the MD of FMC Abuja, Prof. Saad Ahmed.
The screening team, led by yours truly, Dr. Tessy Ahmadu (Head of Oncology Department) will be available throughout the month of October to provide the screening services.

PROJECT PINK BLUE Shows Support for Cancer Patients at FMC Abuja
Abuja, March 21, 2025
PROJECT PINK BLUE, a non-governmental organization, visited Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abuja.
This gesture according to the team is part of the ongoing partnership with FMC Abuja towards war against cancer.
They donated essential items, including chemo wigs, chemo caps, and compression socks.
This visit highlights the importance of partnerships between healthcare institutions and NGOs in providing comprehensive care and support to cancer patients.
