3/1/2024 On this day I lost my father / my hero. My Father was the toughest man I ever met. He beat lung cancer, pancreatic cancer & many battles with pneumonia. He taught me many valuable lessons growing up. Such as ,NEVER give up. If you are going to start something (no matter what it is) you FINISH it. How to play Football. I will never forget finding you in the stands, before, during & after every game @ every level. The facial expressions you would make when you were pleased & disappointed with my play. I will never forget you telling me to drive my feet. Whether I was blocking a nose guard in pee wee football or Warren Sapp in the NFL. The most important thing you taught me was how to be a man. And for that I am forever in your debt. Thank you for giving me your name. Even though you threatened to change it if I didnāt do right by it. That name is now in the Long Island Sports Hall Of Fame & on the wall at the University of Maryland Football Team House. It is there till the end of time. Thanx to you. I know youāre in a better place. Someday I hope I can be half the father you were to me. Love you Pops. -JR-
I truly am at a loss for words. Sean Posner really was my brother from another mother. Seems like yesterday , when we met in the Bahamas 26 years ago. You were always there for me when I needed you. It truly was my honor to stand under the Huppah for your wedding with Melissa. I will never forget me riding along for your 1st blind date with her. You pulled up to her house & honked the horn. I looked @ you like you were crazy & immediately went to the front door to get her. The look on her face when she saw a 6ā3 300lb football player š She said ā youāre Sean Posnerā š³ I said no, Iām Melvin , Seanās in the car. The three of us went & ate. Not your typical 1st date. After we dropped Melissa home, I looked you in the eyes & said āyouāre going to Marry herā I knew you & I knew what you needed. I will never forget the countless adventures we had brother. Love You Brother.

There have been a few friends in my life that I've had the privilege to call Brother. Jonathan Strain was one of them. Tragically we lost him last week. He truly had a zest for life. He loved his friends & especially his three boys , Rob, Jack & Joe. I will be forever grateful for our friendship. I Love You Brother & you will be sorely missed. May you R.I.P.
