Peach Garde @peachgarde ‘s KIMONA inspired by the architecture of National Artist Leandro Locsin. The sheer kimona made of piña-seda (pineapple and silk cloth) was inspired by the coffered ceiling of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), while the structured bib was based on the colossal, cantilevered rooves of Locsin that seem to hover above the space. The patadyong (a tubular garment girded around the waist) in polyester suiting fabric was inspired by the Philippine pavilion’s (World Expo, 1970) triangular silhouette. Peach Garde @peachgarde ‘s BALINTAWAK inspired by National Artist Leandro Locsin’s iconic buildings. The skirt’s book leaf pattern was lifted from the profile of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) — with its massive box-like structure supported by curved buttresses. The three-dimensional sleeves echo the building’s coiled staircase. Both garments were tailored with polyester suiting material edged with lime colored thread or textile, which are also used on the alampay (shoulder cloth) and tapis (strip of cloth worn over the skirt). Peach Garde @peachgarde (Gawad Pacita Longos / Gold Medal) from Capiz. “My strength in tailoring and handwork coupled with my interest in crisp and clean finishing of garments, gave me confidence to translate brutalism into fashion.  I took inspiration from the bold silhouettes and structures, sharp edges and angular shapes of National Artist Leandro Locsin’s architectural works and transformed them into wearable art through the lens of tailoring.” — Peach Garde In lieu of a traditional camisa (blouse), a bib with elongated tails was layered over a green bodice. Its shape was inspired by the Carillon of UP Los Baños. The cutwork was generally lifted from Locsin's works that combine angular with curvilinear profiles. An elongated pañuelo (fichu) of light gray material is tucked into one of the openings. Bryan Peralta @bryanperaltadesigns ‘s KIMONA inspired by the works of National Artist JosĂ© Joya. A full circle was cut from tea-stained jusi and embroidered to create the kimona. It was pintucked on the waist for definition, and a pleated alampay (shoulder cloth) was positioned across. A contemporary version of the patadyong (a tubular garment girded around the waist) with raw edges was effortlessly gathered on a rope, which was then girded on the waist. An electric pleated enagua (petticoat or underskirt) peeped beneath the patadyong.    *Fans by Monchet Olives of Casa de Mercedes. Bryan Peralta @bryanperaltadesigns ‘s BALINTAWAK inspired by the works of National Artist JosĂ© Joya. The dimensional butterfly sleeves were built over a 3D printed framework. They were attached to a frock made of strips of stained jusi that flapped open to reveal an electric pleated enagua (petticoat or underskirt). From the book TERNOCON 2025: FILIPINIANA X OBRA. BRYAN PERALTA @bryanperaltadesigns (Gawad Pura Escurdia / Silver Medal) ‘s TERNO. “I was drawn by the works of National Artist JosĂ© Joya and mesmerized by the deceptively random doodles of his New York Series (late 1960s) displayed at the National Museum of the Philippines. There was a certain quiet and austerity in them, just random zigzags forming shapes, shadows, and light floating against the yellowing canvas. I wanted my capsule collection to look like his drawings, and I tried to achieve that by combining embroidery, embossed cording, and 3D Printing; all set against breezy silhouettes of tea-dyed jusi and canvas.” From the book TERNOCON 2025: Filipiniana X Obra. Jared Servano @jared_servano ‘s KIMONA inspired by the artworks of Nena Saguil. Colored rings dangle around the waist to suggest a patadyong (a tubular garment girded around the waist) worn over a pair of pants. The alampay (shoulder cloth) was made of distressed and dyed piña (pineapple) textile. From the book TERNOCON 2025: Filipiniana X Obra. #jaredservano #kimona #ternocon2025 #filipiniana

Jared Servano @jared_servano ‘s BALINTAWAK inspired by Nena Saguil’s paintings. A canary yellow alampay (shoulder cloth) was structured like a cowl. While colored rings swirl diagonally on the skirt to suggest the hemline of a tapis (strip of cloth worn over the skirt). Lewek cloth for the bodice was infused with gold floss that fluttered on the butterfly sleeves. From the book TERNOCON 2025: FILIPINIANA x OBRA. Jared Servano @jared_servano was inspired by Nena Saguil’s paintings and illustrations. “I chose Nena Saguil’s work (Untitled) because of its depiction of the cosmic, mystical, and spiritual realms. Though her work is an abstraction of internal landscapes shaped by feelings and imaginations, I sense a very organic expression
one that resonates with the T’boli dreamweavers’ creative process
beginning with the k’na k’noon (beautiful dreams) guided by the goddess Fu Dalu (spirit of abaca), the mebed (process of creating a design in abaca fiber)
