Their boots don't just look the part — they're made to go the distance. And now, with the launch of Re-Lanx, they're making sure their boots keep going. Whether that's repairing a pair so they're ready for more miles, or refurbishing them to pass on to someone new — the goal is simple: keep them in use and out of landfill. What we love most? This Second Hand September, We’ll be doing a Second Hand Safari. A round up of the exciting businesses - and surprising facts behind the rising second hand market. Starting with @oxfamgb , the creators of hashtag #secondhandseptember. First launched in 2019, the campaign was designed to raise awareness of the environmental, economic and social benefits of shopping pre-owned - and donating what’s no longer worn. It’s been gaining momentum ever since, with charities, marketplaces and brands all finding clever ways to participate. As part of this year’s campaign, fronted by pre-loved shopping fan, Jameela Jamil, Oxfam released its latest research findings, citing (among many eye-popping stats) that in the UK, we currently have 1.6 billion unused items of clothes sitting idle in our closets. That’s a lot of potential inventory in a market with surging demand for second hand - wouldn’t it be wonderful to find it all a new home?
