Opal Sangmo Barshee was born on January 22, 2025 after a 30 hour journey earthside at Havelhöhe, outside of Berlin. She is named after her great great grandmother Opal and her Tibetan name, Sangmo, means powerful, enlightened woman 💎 She has our whole hearts ♥️
We are delighted to announce that @tenzingbarshee is now a partner at Jan Kaps.
Before joining the gallery as director in 2023, Tenzing Barshee worked with many of our artists and organized the group exhibition Namedropping at the gallery in 2017. As a curator, he has organized exhibitions and helped develop the program for institutions, art fairs, commercial galleries and independent spaces. He has co-edited artist books and monographs and his texts and interviews have appeared in catalogs of the Kunstmuseum Basel, Kunsthalle Bern and the Carnegie Museum of Art as well as in numerous art magazines and newspapers.
