This morning, we joined @the_beauty_triangle for a conversation on modern motherhood; exploring the realities of postnatal recovery, identity shifts, sleep, nervous system support and the importance of caring for the mother, not just the baby. A few reflections that stayed with us: “Postnatal depletion is a real physiological change- we need to move away from bounce back culture.” “No two motherhood journeys are the same. You’re not reclaiming your old identity, you’re becoming someone new.” And from The Tenth’s resident sleep consultant, Dr Francesca Brewer - @thebabysleepgp : “Sleep plays a huge role in a mother’s mental health.
