This year’s Fire & Ice is happening tonight at sundown - with some major inspiration and modifications. Fire & Ice will not take place in Tenney Park, but on the streets of our great neighborhood instead. (Scroll down for the why and a little history) Minnesotans have been so determined and creative in how they are standing up to the occupation of their city. They are making a difference!  Let’s support them by lining our TLNA streets with flickering ice lanterns this Friday, 1/30 at sundown.  How to participate in 5 easy steps 1. Make ice lanterns. It’s easy to make ice lanterns when the weather gets this cold.  Put a bucket or plastic container with water out at dinnertime and you’ll have a lantern by morning.  ‘How to’ Resources to follow - scroll down 2. If you’d like, come pick up candles (while they last) on the porch at 411 Sidney Street to put inside the lanterns (or supply your own).    3. Place your lantern(s) out in front of your home or in front of your neighbors homes.   4. Light at sundown on Friday, 1/30.  It’ll be cold enough to light them again on Saturday.  5. Bundle up and take a walk - take & share your photos Hold hope. Stay calm. Stay safe. Stay kind. Be in community.

Thank you for an amazing season of Popsicles on the Porch! Sixteen events, 30+ hosts, and over 800 popsicles served this summer! 🤣 Neighbors have met, strangers have become acquaintances and acquaintances have become friends. This was only possible due to our generous hosts who welcomed neighbors onto their lawns, porches, and driveways. A million times, thank you.

The final Popsicles on the Porch is tonight! Thursday 9/18 817 E. Gorham 5:30-7:30pm Pop in for a drink, a popsicle or just to say hello. The Madison mounted police will be stopping by if they are available! Thanks for a wonderful season. I’ve enjoyed chatting with so many of you, exchanging books and ideas, and setting up play dates that wouldn’t have happened without PoP! - Lauren DM me your feedback! If you went to a Popsicles - what did you like? What would you suggest doing differently? And if you did not go - why not? What might make it more appealing to you?
