We are pleased to announce today that on June 12, 2026, we will be releasing our 13th album, “Snowdrop”, via Temporary Residence Ltd. and New Noise. Coinciding with this, we are also happy to reveal the “Snowdrop” World Tour: Part 1, running from July 3, 2026 to April 27, 2027. Without exception, everyone will eventually depart this world and face the parting from their loved ones. Through this album, we wished to express our “eternal gratitude” to those precious people who walked alongside us on the journey of life. We believe this sentiment is the only thing capable of filling the void left in our hearts and easing the profound sorrow and pain of loss. Every flower carries its own unique language. For this album, we incorporated the messages imbued in flowers given to those who have passed into the titles of our songs. Our hope is that this album serves as a source of light and hope for those who have lost someone dear. “The Disintegration Loops developed a life of its own after 9/11, because that event affected everyone around the world. The music speaks to our human need for a way to express the inexpressible. It’s a soundtrack to help us move through these times.” – ANOHNI “It is a hypnotic elegy not just for an idealized former version of the United States but also for the glorious possibility of youth.” - The New York Times  “This is vital music for the human condition, divinity culled from dust.” – NPR “And some 20-plus years after its association with a single catastrophic day, the work still speaks meaningfully to our contemporary conditions: declining ecosystems, democracies eroding, attention fragmenting. The loops offer companionship through this, demonstrating what listening through collapsing, personal loss and erosion can feel like.” - The WIRE  Since the turn of this century, perhaps no other modern composition has had a more resonant healing effect than The Disintegration Loops. Composer William Basinski’s deteriorating analog tape loops evolved from melodic symphonies to melancholic silence over a span of time that uncannily turned passing minutes into pensive lifetimes. The Disintegration Loops – Arcadia Archive Edition is an expansive new box set that includes the entire 5-hour suite of iconic work. Newly remastered from the original recordings by Josh Bonati, the hefty package includes eight vinyl records (or four CDs for the less analog-inclined) in sturdy full-color jackets featuring the restored original artwork, and a new 1000-word foreword by Laurie Anderson – all housed in a striking heavyweight, case-wrapped box. It is the ideal encapsulation of one of the 21st Century’s most truly transcendent works. As Anderson concludes in her foreword, “this music has created another world, a world to be carried away in.” The 8xLP and 4xCD Box Set are now in stores worldwide.

MONO’s Forever Home: Live in Tokyo with Orchestra PITREZA is out now and in stores on super deluxe 2xCD+Blu-ray and 3xLP formats! Forever Home celebrates MONO’s 25th Anniversary ‘OATH’ Orchestral World Tour, which stretched to 20 concerts in Europe, Asia, and the United States of America in the final months of 2024. Recorded in front of a sold-out crowd at Spotify O-EAST in Tokyo, Forever Home features a 12-piece orchestra – led by orchestra director and frequent collaborator, Chad McCullough – supporting MONO as they perform their latest album, OATH, in its entirety. The 100-minute concert concludes with a pair of the band’s most iconic songs – “Ashes in the Snow” and “Everlasting Light” – that pay homage to that first-ever orchestral live performance in NYC 15 years ago. Recorded and mixed by MONO’s longtime touring sound engineer, Matt Cook, Forever Home captures the venerable group in their natural environment, and at their most transcendent. With the symphonic accompaniment of Japan’s Orchestra PITREZA, MONO makes a room in Tokyo feel like a limitless sea – mercurial, contemplative, and overwhelming.

Steve Albini's death in 2024 left an incalculable void in the lives of everyone who knew him, and in the discography of every band who recorded with him. Mono @monoofjapan made almost every record of theirs at Electrical Audio over the past 25 years. "Snowdrop", out 12 June via Temporary Residence and New Noise, is the first album they have made without him. We sat down with Taka for a long conversation about the days after Steve's passing, the phone call from his friend Jef that got him writing again, three funerals across four years, the flower language threaded through every song title, rewriting "Winter Daphne" the day after his father-in-law's funeral, choosing Brad Wood, mastering with Bob Weston, the 8-piece choir on four tracks, and what Steve gave him that has stayed in every note he plays. Full interview just landed on IDIOTEQ💿com #mono #monoofjapan #stevealbini #postrock

In 2006, Japan’s envy irreparably blurred the lines dividing all the various sub-genres of underground rock, smearing post-hardcore, screamo, shoegaze, and ambient minimalism into their cinematic opus, Insomniac Doze. It was not a destination without a path – the band’s previous two albums, All the Footprints You’ve Left Behind and the Fear Expecting Ahead (2001) and A Dead Sinking Story (2003), were clear indicators that change was ahead. As always, envy were driven by creative curiosity and emotional exploration. Perhaps no album in their nearly four-decade history exemplifies this pursuit more than Insomniac Doze. Twenty years later, it stands as a progenitor, and one of the premier examples of the preconceptions of punk getting reduced to vapor. Insomniac Doze – Anniversary Edition celebrates the 20 years since the release of envy’s landmark album. Remastered in 2026 by Josh Bonati, the album’s deluxe new gatefold package includes complete lyrics in both English and Japanese languages. It is the definitive version of an album that has come to help define a genre. Pre-order ‘Insomniac Doze – Anniversary Edition’ in Limited Edition Liquid Gold, Black Vinyl and Compact Disc shipping on and around July 17!

Our dear friend, renowned composer and arranger, Rachel Grimes (Rachels), lends her exceptional gifts for performance and arrangement to “Waltzes & Love Songs of Henry Hart”, which is out now on all digital platforms worldwide. “Waltzes & Love Songs of Henry Hart” is the first commercial recording of eight of Henry Hart’s works, which were published between 1870-1877. Along with the album are new sheet music editions and arrangements of all eight songs, originally published for piano and singers. Henry Hart (1839 - 1915) is one of America’s earliest published African American composers. He was born enslaved to the Orlando Brown family of Liberty Hall in Frankfort, Kentucky. By 1853, Hart’s parents paid a manumission debt to the Brown’s in order to free their family and move to northern Ohio. Hart was classically trained on violin in Cleveland, Ohio. As a bandleader, he also played the cornet and was a caller for social dances such as waltzes and quadrilles. He worked as a barber and musician on riverboats along the Ohio River. In late 1864, he married pianist Sarah Smith (of Jeffersonville, Indiana) in New Orleans, where the two were performers with Prescott’s Museum. In 1867, they moved to Evansville, Indiana to raise a family. Over the years, the Harts raised seven daughters, all musically trained by their parents on piano, viola, cello, harp, xylophone, and drums. The family moved to Indianapolis, IN, in 1879, where “Professor Hart and his Orchestra” became a popular dance band choice for upper class hosts, such as Eli Lilly. Hart’s daughters often joined the band, with Myrtle on harp, Hazel on piano, and Willie on cello. Through the late 1890s and early 1900s, Henry Hart performed for multiple Governors, and for the visits of three U.S. Presidents. The ensemble will perform the music of Henry Hart on May 29th at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort, KY.

Happy to share an official excerpt from my performance at Can Festival in Zhoushan. Playing ‘Darkest Light’ among the trees, in a place that felt almost unreal. Thank you for the warmth, I won’t forget it!
