Greetings fellow travellers, we are the priestesses of the Temple of Ham, a performance art duo.
We are flow fairies made of magic and whimsy.
Our magic is powered by our savior and overlord, Ham – Sami’s dog (or wizard that got trapped in a dog body, we cannot tell, we’re pretty sure it’s the second one).
As a performance art duo, we dabble in the realms of meteor, poi, staff, silk fans, dance, being strange little goblins, etc.
The first time we met we flowed together in the park and we have been doing a lot of that together since then.
We have been hosting a weekly flow meetup for around half a year together, and really value building community in the flow space. Nothing beats getting weird and wacky with fellow flailing humans.

This was Catalyst Collective’s first outdoor festival of the year, and wow Abstrakt Sonance was a vibe. Boy did we go places. This clip was shot during the peak of the set with the legendary Temple of Ham on @kootenaydancecollective stage.
We were so locked in. It is hard to explain, but it feels like the music and the movement take over. This is not choreographed, it just happens purely by reflex and instinct, built on familiarity working together and the little tricks we have been building over time, it kind of feels like jazz.
I love where this is going. When I picked up filmmaking I did not expect it would lead me back into dance, yet it makes sense. Music and dance have always belonged together. What makes music good is when it makes you want to move. Every event I document I am learning to take this further and realizing I am only scratching the surface of an art form with incredible depth. This festival season is going to be wild, and stay tuned cause you guys are going to see some stuff :P
