I lived in Soho .. and ended up volunteering at two different NYPD mustering locations downtown. I took 300 frames with my Nikon FM before I realized I had no film in my camera. But all the images are still there, deep inside where they started. I made this image soon after, it summed it up for me. We lost a lot that day, more than we knew. And so much of what we all saw became iconic and marked our lives.
