Our to-go bags offer immediate support for unsheltered neighbors and anyone without access to a kitchen. Ready-to-eat food and small essentials can make a real difference in someone’s day, providing nourishment, stability, and care when it’s needed most. 🩵

We are excited to share that our Community Action Program team received the Best Partner Organization Award from @SRPConnect
This award honors partners who communicate clearly, coordinate with care, and support clients through every step without letting anyone fall through the gaps. We are proud of our team for the dedication that made this possible.
Thank you to our partners for this recognition.

Today we’re celebrating the strength of new and expectant mothers in our Health Start program. With one-on-one support from our team, families receive the guidance they need for a healthy pregnancy and a strong beginning.
We are proud to share that 94% of babies in Health Start are born at a healthy birth weight. That is the power of early support, connection, and community care.
Happy Mother’s Day to the moms who inspire us every day.

Meet Teresita and Sydney.
After losing her spouse, Teresita wanted to stay independent while finding connection with someone who shared her interests. She was matched through our Neighbors Helping Neighbors program with Sydney, a current employee at Arizona State University, and their bond was instant.
What started as a simple match has grown into a genuine friendship. They spend time together regularly, sharing conversation, laughter, and moments that brighten both of their weeks.
For Teresita, this connection has brought renewed joy and a sense of belonging. For Sydney, the relationship has been equally meaningful.
Their story shows what companionship can do: reduce isolation, support mental wellbeing, and remind us that connection matters at every stage of life.
#ThrowbackThursday to when our current services site was still under construction. These early photos remind us how far we’ve come and how much this space has allowed us to grow. For years, this building has been home to our food pantry and other essential services, helping thousands of neighbors access support when they need it most.
Today, we’re looking ahead to an even bigger milestone. Later this year, we’ll open a brand new building that will significantly expand our capacity and deepen the impact we can make across the community. More space, more resources, and more room to serve.
We’re grateful for where we started, proud of where we are, and excited for what’s next.

Paul’s Ace Hardware is supporting TCAA all month long with a round-up at the register at their two Tempe locations. When you round up your purchase in May, your donation goes directly to TCAA, and Paul’s Ace Hardware will add a 10 percent match.
Participating locations:
• 929 E Broadway Rd, Tempe
• 1153 W Broadway Rd, Tempe
Their first Hometown Days sale of the season is happening now, and there’s a great chance to join in the fun. On Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the 929 E Broadway store will host a Mother’s Day craft and give away Mini Ace buckets. Stop by, stock up on summer essentials, and support TCAA while you shop.
When you support our pantry, your contribution goes directly toward purchasing food through our grocery partners and food bank networks. These partnerships allow us to access pricing that isn’t available to the average shopper, which means we can stretch every dollar much further than what you’d find at a grocery store.
This buying power is one of the most important tools we have. It helps us bring in high-demand items, restock quickly when shelves get low, and make sure families can count on a consistent variety of nutritious food. Instead of wondering how far limited funds will go, we’re able to plan ahead, respond to need in real time, and keep our programs steady.
Your support fuels that stability. It turns into real meals, reliable access, and a stronger safety net for neighbors who rely on us. Thank you for helping create that impact every day.

When someone graduates from our emergency shelter program and moves into a home of their own, they often start with very little. That’s why we provide move-in kits filled with essentials like bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and other basics that help make a new space feel like home.
Each kit helps ease the transition into stable housing by giving participants what they need on day one, reducing stress and helping them settle in with confidence.

Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Loni Bell!
When Loni first came to volunteer, she was looking for connection. Nearly a year later, she’s a familiar, joyful presence in our pantry three days a week.
“I call this place my Disneyland… it’s a really happy feeling when you leave knowing that you helped a lot of people.”
Volunteers like Loni are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re so grateful to celebrate her as our Volunteer of the Month during Volunteer Appreciation Week.
