[ FOCUS ] - @temp_illusion Temp-Illusion est un duo de musique électronique iranien, formé en 2011 par Shahin Entezami et Behrang Najafi, récemment installé à Paris. Leur musique singulière mêle des nappes bruitistes et atmosphériques, des mélodies, alliées à une programmation rythmique complexe, réalisée à l’aide d’un large éventail de logiciels de production musicale. Ils sont principalement reconnus pour leurs différentes prestations lives et ont participé à de nombreux concerts et festivals tels que Roskilde Festival, MUTEK AE, MUTEK JP, CTM Festival, Insomnia Festival, Tehran Contemporary Sounds et SET Festival. Le duo a sorti deux LP, Autolected et Pend sur Zabte Sote ainsi qu’un album de remixes Pend [reworks] sur Opal Tapes et Failsafe sur le label PTP. These are some photos and videos from previous shows of CAUSTIC SURFACES, which we will present in Paris next Thursday. We started the CAUSTIC SURFACES audiovisual project with @amirb.ash in 2020. The idea came from a track we made with the same name which felt different from our usual music, both in sound and concept, and it gave us very strong visual images. That made us think why not continue in this direction, separate from our normal live shows? Our regular performances are usually dance-oriented, but this project focuses more on our ambient, down-tempo side. With our longtime collaborator Amir B Ash handling visuals, the project is flexible and can change depending on the venue, a dome, warehouse, an immersive 360° space, or just conventional stage formats. CAUSTIC SURFACES premiered at Planetarium-1 in Saint Petersburg in May 2021, then was shown at Berlin’s TCS, Ashoob Sounds, MUTEK Japan (livestream) in 2022, and MUTEK AE last year. For this new edition, we decided to go fully ambient. We hope you enjoy it if you are around!
