#Repost @lns_gallery • • • • • LnS Gallery is proud to announce the inclusion of represented artist, T Eliott Mansa (@teliottmansa ) into the permanent collection of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (@pamm ). The impacting assemblage, ‘Victory of John Henry,’ (2020), has been acquired by the PAMM through the generous donation of Max König   ‘Victory of John Henry,’ (2020) references the legendary race of the African American folk hero, tasked with hammering a steel drill into rock to make holes for explosives to blast the rock in constructing a railroad tunnel, against a steam drill machine. This narrative connects the importance of the role of African American labor to Western expansion and the financing of the industrial revolution. ‘Victory of John Henry,’ (2020), consists of materials associated with mourning in Black Atlantic culture, such as sea shells, teddy bears, dolls, plastic flowers and foliage. Through this material usage, Mansa acknowledges and centers the memory of the ancestors as well as those lost to state violence and social injustice. T Eliott Mansa (‘1977, Miami, FL) is a multidisciplinary artist creating assemblages, paintings, and sculptures that incorporate the aesthetic of amalgamation found in visionary Southern vernacular sculpture. Mansa’s intention is to trigger the radical imagination of viewers, encouraging them to subvert the status quo and find socio-political agency in their own communities.   Mansa attended the Yale School of Art (2013) and received his MFA from CUNY Hunter College (2018). In 2019, he received a Creator Award from Oolite Arts and the Miami Foundation. Previous residencies include the five-week Home + Away residency through Oolite Arts at Artpace in San Antonio, Texas (March 2021), and studio at Oolite Arts in Miami Beach, FL (2020 – 2022). He is currently an Artist in Residence at Bakehouse Art Complex in Miami, FL.   #perezartmuseummiami #pamm #teliottmansa #victoryofjohnhenry #assemblage

We’re proud to celebrate the inclusion of 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓹𝓲𝓻𝓲𝓽 𝓶𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓭 𝓾𝓹𝓸𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 (𝓚𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓪) by T. Eliott Mansa in 𝘈𝘮é𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢: 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘑𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘔. 𝘗é𝘳𝘦𝘻, curated by Hélio Menezes and on view at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Seville. 🌀 Drawing on the concept of “Améfrica,” articulated by Afro-Brazilian thinker Lélia Gonzalez, the exhibition traces cultural, historical, and spiritual resonances that connect Africa and the Americas across the Atlantic. Mansa’s work enters this powerful dialogue through its evocation of Kalunga—the cosmic and ancestral waters that bind memory, migration, and diasporic identity. On view February 27, 2026 - January 10, 2027. @caac_sevilla   @elespacio23 @teliottmansa 📸: installation views of 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓹𝓲𝓻𝓲𝓽 𝓶𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓭 𝓾𝓹𝓸𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝔀𝓪𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 (𝓚𝓪𝓵𝓾𝓷𝓰𝓪) by T. #repost @roscoebthicke It is an honor to feature Lance Minto Strouse in SUNS & SHADOWS. Opening November 14 @ahcacmiami Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center Curated by @roscoebthicke An interdisciplinary artist from Miami, Lance’s work moves between photography, video, and installation, examining how identity, intimacy, and space intersect. His images often unfold like quiet performances, revealing the traces of movement, vulnerability, and time. Rooted in his experience growing up in South Florida, Lance’s practice explores the tension between visibility and concealment, the seen and the felt. His work has been presented at Locust Projects, MOCA North Miami, and Art Basel Miami Beach, and continues to expand conversations around self representation, community, and Black interiority. Through his vast practice, light becomes a form of language and the body becomes an archive of memory.

#repost @roscoebthicke It is an honor to feature Reginald O’Neal in SUNS & SHADOWS. Opening November 14 @ahcacmiami Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center Curated by @roscoebthicke
Born and raised in Overtown, Miami, Reginald’s work reflects the people and places that shaped him, capturing moments of tenderness, struggle, and endurance within life. His paintings are meditations on everyday life, transforming memory into form and reflection into legacy. A self-taught artist, Reginald’s practice bridges fine art and lived experience, drawing inspiration from his community and surroundings. His work has been exhibited at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Spinello Projects, MOCA North Miami, and Rubell Museum. His portraits and scenes speak to both personal and collective histories, revealing the quiet power of presence. Reginald’s work reminds us that memory is not just something we hold, but something that continues to hold us. #SunsAndShadows #ReginaldONeal #RoscoeBThickeIII #AfricanHeritageCulturalArtsCenter #MiamiArtScene #BlackArt #Legacy #LightAndShadow #ContemporaryArt #PAMM
