📸 #TEI2026 Highlights
Last week, the TEI community gathered in Chicago for inspiring talks, hands-on making, and wonderful conversations.
Let’s revisit some moments from the conference — starting with our Studios 🍄
The ACM TEI 2026 conference, co-chaired by UChicago CS faculty member Ken Nakagaki, was a huge success! TEI is an HCI research community focused on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interaction, and this year marked the 20th anniversary of the conference. It took place right on the University of Chicago campus (Ida Noyes Hall & Rubenstein Forum) and at a neighboring venue, the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.
Many UChicago CS students and community members attended, volunteered, and presented at the conference, making meaningful contributions to its success. On one day of the conference, UChicago CS also hosted an open house event, where over 100 TEI participants explored and interacted with HCI labs in our department. Thank you to all TEI participants who attended—we are excited to welcome you back to Chicago!
