Late Post: I am not sure what comedy/R&B tour we were on last week, but at this point we need a road manager! MoJo Brookz, Ali Saddiq, and THE Floetry all before Mother’s Day! This post is a week late because that’s how long it took me to recover! Don’t judge me, if you’re over 45 you understand! 😴 🤣 😜 I don’t own the rights to any of the music.
I’m going to take a moment to do something I don’t usually do… pat myself on the back.
I just wrapped a three-day event for the incredible coordinators who help lead the Reach Higher adult degree completion program across the state, and I’m honestly so proud of how it all came together!
We kicked things off with a mixer—live DJ, great food, games, prizes, and a whole lot of fun. Day two started with an amazing buffet breakfast, followed by a full day of professional development. We wrapped that evening with council meetings, then switched gears into adventure mode with an escape room experience and an adrenaline-filled night flying down the slides at Okana Waterpark.
We closed everything out on Saturday with a beautiful lunch reception celebrating our students and graduates—honoring them with the recognition they truly deserve. From the graduation cords and certificates to gifts and chocolates for them all while being recognized in front of their families. It was a meaningful and memorable afternoon.
If you’ve ever planned an event, you know the real work is in the details—the logistics, the coordination, making sure every “t” is crossed and every “i” is dotted. And I’m grateful to say the entire three days went off without a hitch. Thank you to my team for all of your help in pulling this off! Shoutout to Tanisha Scott with Grace Unveiled Ministries Inc. for donating the door prizes. The coordinators loved their massagers and facial kits! Huge shoutout to my hubby @lloyd.bradford.31 who always shows up and does any and everything to help me out!
Last year, God told me I would be stretched in new ways—and He meant that!!!! I’ve definitely been stretched… but I’m even more thankful for the growth that came with it.
Shoutout to our girl who was just inducted into Lambda Pi Eta the National Communications Honor Society! She wraps up her junior year this week! One more year to go!!! HU!!

Last night was one for the history books. 🎶
I had the honor of DJing in a space where legends like Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, B.B. King, and so many others once stood.
The Big Ten Ballroom holds so much musical legacy, and I’m incredibly thankful to be able to play in a place that helped shape jazz, blues, R&B, and rock ’n’ roll.

Blessed and grateful is all I can say! Was able to gather and spend time with family Thursday, and go see my brotha from anotha mother @bryan_whorton shine in Sarah’s Oil on Friday! If you haven’t seen this, GO SEE IT, this is a part of Oklahoma’s history that needs to be told! Then I get home to see a film I shot last year hit Amazon Prime just in time for Christmas!
