The Al Doc is AMAZING
I just wanted to say that one of my best friends, @tedtremper , produced this documentary! It took over two years to make this thing and I’m super proud of him🥹 We have gone to so many screenings throughout the years and now I finally got to go to a screening of a movie he made!
(our first screening was in 2017 for handmaids tale) Let me know if you watched it! #theaidoc
This Friday March 27th, @theaidocfilm opens in theaters across the U.S. Our latest episode of Your Undivided Attention podcast goes behind the scenes with the filmmakers to tell the story. I remember the dinner where Aza and I first sat down with Daniel Kwan and Jonathan Wang (the team behind "Everything Everywhere All at Once") and encouraged them to make a film about AI. Two and half years later, the result is a film that takes the full spectrum of views on AI — the promise, the peril, the competing ideologies, the economic incentives — and makes it all legible.
At CHT, we say clarity creates agency. This film helps create that clarity.
So listen to our conversation with the team behind the film, then go see it for yourself, and invite your friends, your family, your business, or your church group. The world changes when there's common knowledge about a crisis we we want to avoid, and the earliest sense of an alternative path that we can steer towards! Listen here: https://bit.ly/4by7kfW
Ted called his doctor's office, immediately recognised the AI on the other end, and brought it up with his doctor in person. The next time he called, a real human picked up.
His point: you don't have to accept AI everywhere it shows up. Small actions still change things.
Ted Tremper is a TV director, showrunner and writer. His credits include The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, the Borat sequel, and co-creator of SHRINK on Peacock. He’s one of the producers of THE AI DOC, which premiered at SXSW 2026
