Today marked exactly 10 Years to the day that Raquel first moved to Indianapolis. She has accomplished So Much in a decade- she completed a Master in library science while taking care of our baby son, she became a librarian, she learned to drive in her 30s (you don't really need to have a car in São Paulo unlike here where it's really inconvenient without one), and she became a citizen here. She plays capoeira weekly and takes Spanish classes to better serve the Spanish-speaking community and help children at the library grow in their bilingualism with fun story times and programs.
The very first photo I took of her in Indy was in front of the dinos outside the Children's Museum dinosphere since it was on the way from the airport to my mom's house. We tried to recreate it to commemorate this moment. She wasn't down to summon her former dino alter ego (because apparently that's too childish and we evolve in our 30s), but she busted out the denim for it.

Shauta Marsh & Jim Walker, co-founders of Big Car at the brand new Contemporary Art Museum of Indianapolis (CAMi) that they opened this past weekend. I went to check it out with my son on Saturday morning, and Jim was nice to give me a tour. It's super exciting that we finally have a proper museum dedicated to art that's pushing boundaries.
