When knowing thyself, there’s no reason to defend. Things can be simple, as you allow others to have opinions while still remaining sovereign. This is not fawning, bypassing or gaslighting someone’s reality. They are entitled to their reality and you can still validate their opinion while still having your own truth. Additionally, hopefully you can integrate their attacks as healthy feedback. But you don’t have to fight fire with fire. Instead you can be earth or water. Grounding it or absorbing it. Not needing to change the other. Remaining open to their feelings, while at the same time remembering yourself, loving yourself and sustaining your truth, without the need to convince any one of anything. If our closest people aren’t who we prefer them to be, that can be hard. But negative reinforcement and invalidation of their feelings will make things worse. Curiosity is love. - Why do they feel that way? Gratitude is love. - Does this reflection help me grow? Allowing people to be who they are is love. And not letting yourself get entangled in people’s opinions is a sovereign form of self love, while also loving them because you don’t need to change them. When ur homie @brentpella decides to throw an entire music festival in order to film an epic comedy called @peakingmovie , of course you have to be there to support by all means possible.
