Plot twist: I started running… voluntarily. 🏃♂️
This morning I somehow managed 15K without needing a rescue helicopter, which means the ridiculous challenge is officially getting real: 50K for £50 pledged by the legend Steven Piñeiro 🇵🇷
Now, for context, Steven casually came 6th in Olympic skateboarding park while I currently run like a shopping trolley with one dodgy wheel. But he’s an absolute hero, hilarious human, and always looking out for Tay ❤️
Huge thanks to Jack Sandham (Olympic physio wizard 🪄) for trying to rebuild my legs after today’s run. The acupuncture felt less like “recovery” and more like being attacked by an angry sewing kit… but honestly, my leg already feels loads better.
50K still sounds completely unhinged, but we move.

Well… turns out my body briefly forgot I’m an elite athlete and tried to retire me early. Rude. Anyway, I’m back training for the 50k I somehow agreed to with Neil Mo Farah Brown, which feels like a life choice I should probably unpack at some point.
Good news is I’m running again. Bad news is I will now be talking about it constantly. You’re welcome.
Even better news… the ramp is officially in planning with Thanet District Council, so clearly we are now best friends and will be exchanging Christmas cards.
All of this is for one very important mission. Helping Tay get to the Olympics. No pressure Tay, just an entire community emotionally invested and me doing long runs I complain about.

22 years married what the actual fuck.
How the hell have I been so blessed.
The best thing that ever happened to me. I have loved the transitions in our life from travelling the world, always pissed and completely out of control, with the nicknames Sid and Nancy to starting a business which is still going strong. To having two amazing kids together. To getting old and sitting on the couch and just laughing at each other. To being grandparents 😬
I know the rest of the ride is going to be just as brilliant.
