Getting into sport early can make a big difference as it supports young people to build confidence, grow friendships and a love of being active. We’re proud to support local organisations like @taurangahockey , @tauranga_waterpolo and @tritauranga , who are working hard to make sport accessible and welcoming for young people across the Western Bay. From school-based programmes to community sessions, these clubs are helping make it easier for our local young people to give sports a go and stay involved. From award-winning Indian Ink Theatre Company, creators of Krishnan’s Dairy and The Candlestick Maker, comes Balloon Dog. Balloon Dog tells the story of a five-year-old girl who befriends a lonely migrant worker, an encounter that opens her family’s eyes to a world beyond their front gate. 1800s Calcutta becomes 21st-century Auckland, in this stage adaptation of one of India’s most loved stories, Kabuliwala, exploring connection, kindness, and the idea that we’re more alike than we think. Expect everything audiences love about Indian Ink: humour, heart, music, and pure theatrical magic. Don't miss it! 📅 Thu 28 and Fri 29 May, 7pm - 8:30pm 📍 Baycourt Addsion Theatre 👉 link in bio ❤️ Proudly supported by the Tauranga Western Bay Community Event Fund. @tectnz @acornfoundationnz @westernbaycouncil Bay Trust

Earlier in April TECT Chair, Mark Arundel attended @waipunahospice 's unveiling of their new Gratitude Tree. The tree is a symbol of remembrance, generosity and community care. It was a moving morning where Helen Clark unveiled the tree and shared the story of her late father and the care he received at the hospice. We were honoured to be acknowledged, with TECT’s plaque placed at the base of the tree, recognising our ongoing support of hospice care in our community.
