Teck-Zilla is a Nigerian-born, UK-based music producer, DJ, and writer, and a founding member of the hip-hop collective Str8Buttah. He has worked with artists from Nigeria, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Canada, the USA, and the UK, earning a reputation for genre-blending production and dynamic DJ sets.
He first fell in love with DJing in Montreal, Canada, inspired by local legends. Returning to Nigeria, he fostered new talent through Str8Buttah Productions, DJed at clubs nationwide, and produced for Chocolate City Music, including Pryse’s “Ricochet” on the Indestructible Choc Boi Nation compilation.
Teck-Zilla’s off-the-cuff mixing style blends house, hip-hop, R&B/soul, afrobeats, and afrohouse. In 2017, he won an AXE-sponsored DJ competition that took him to Ibiza to play alongside Black Coffee. He has also been a key DJ for events like Battle of the Year, AfricaNXT (formerly SMW Lagos), the Afrobreak Championship in Ghana, and the All Star Battle International Festival in Togo.
He has worked with brands and institutions including Red Bull, Hennessy, Globacom, Goethe-Institut, Alliance Française, and French Institute Togo. His credits include collaborations with Camp Lo, Modenine, Illbliss, Shabaam Sahdeeq, Eternia, Canibus, and Clear Soul Forces.
Currently, Teck-Zilla is developing his breakbeat series BBoy Zilla, a new compilation album, and a joint project with singer Maka and rapper Phlow, while expanding his open-genre live DJ sets globally.
