Emilia Doda read about a data center being proposed across from her childhood home in Scranton, PA, which raised questions about the data center wave in the state. She then went on to create the Pennsylvania Data Center Proposal Tracker, an interactive tool that tracks existing, proposed and delayed data centers across the state. Swipe through to learn more about Emilia, the tracker and her hopes growing it nation-wide. 🔗 Read the full article in the link in our bio 📝: Hannah Frances Johansson

Even if it doesn’t feel natural, it’s better to post as yourself online to get eyes on a company. A panel at Technical.ly’s annual Builders Conference — which included Waskar Paulino of PhilaCon Valley, Jake Stein of Common Paper and Jane Joseph Innovation Works in Pittsburgh — spoke on how startup founders can build stronger digital communities by showing up online as themselves, not just through a corporate brand voice. 🔗 Read the full recap of the session in the link in our bio 📝: Maria Eberhart

AI might not be completely taking over search just yet, but it is changing how brands get visibility.  At Technical.ly’s 2026 Builders Conference, Jim Wrubel and Greg Ippolito discussed how AI tools pull information from across the web to shape brand narratives, making visibility harder to track through traditional analytics alone. Wrubel, founder of Spyglasses.io, showed how the platform tracks AI visibility metrics such as citations, links and brand rankings in AI-generated responses.

Ippolito and Wrubel both stressed that founders should pay attention not just to their own websites, but to how their companies appear across high-authority sources like news sites, rather than relying on their own blog posts. 🔗 Read the full recap of the session in the link in our bio 📝: McKenzie Morgan

Waymo is expanding nationally, and most recently sat out a Philadelphia city council hearing, in part because Pennsylvania state government already authorized them. Should states or cities get final say? This from @technical_ly reporting by @sarahhuffmanreports and @kathryn.malone #tech #economy #ai #autonomous #waymo

Science communication works best when people can see why it matters to them. At Technical.ly’s 2026 Builders Conference, panelists Hollie Mackey, Kiersten Yates, Aaron Weiskittel and Michele Masucci discussed how scientists can build trust by cutting jargon, using clearer examples and focusing on the people affected by research. With only 45% of U.S. adults describing research scientists as good communicators, speakers said experts need to better connect innovations in areas like health, agriculture and climate to everyday lives and local communities. 🔗 Read the full recap of the session in the link in our bio 📝: Kaela Roeder

For early-stage B2B founders, better sales often start with better conversations. At Technical.ly’s 2026 Builders Conference, AJ Bruno of QuotaPath and Matt Du Pont of First Round Capital said outreach should be specific, timely and useful, not just higher volume. Events can be especially valuable, not only for formal networking but for hallway conversations, smaller dinners and follow-ups built around a clear reason to connect. Their advice for founders under $5M in revenue: treat early sales like customer discovery, lead with relevance and make it easy for prospects to say yes. 🔗 Read the full recap of the session in the link in our bio 📝: Holly Quinn
